Join Chef Barbara Lynch and our Executive Wine Director Cat Silirie in welcoming Emanuela Stucchi Prinetti of Badia a Coltibuono to Menton for a festive evening savoring her wines paired with a fantastic four-course dinner by Chef de Cuisine Scott Jones.
A historic estate in the heart of Tuscany, Badia a Coltibuono dates back to the Etruscans in the 3rd century BC. The property has been in the Stucchi Prinetti family for six generations, over 150 years! Today, the estate's rich soil supports vineyards as well as chestnut, walnut and olive trees. Badia a Coltibuono, located on one of the best sites in Chianti, produces some of Tuscany's noblest wines.
After WWII, Emanuela's father began to bottle and sell the estate's finest Chianti Classico. Until that time, these wines had been resting in the Abbey cellar on-property as the family's private reserves. Now, Badia a Coltibuono, run by Emanuela and her brothers, makes premium wines with estate-grown, organically-produced grapes. Their Chianti Classicos are iconic.
We are thrilled to host Emanuela in the Gold Bar for an intimate wine dinner highlighting the beautiful bottlings produced on her family's estate. Join us to raise a glass!
*Price is exclusive of tax & gratuity.
Reservation requests received via email are not confirmed until a response from Menton is received.
Growing up between Milan and the estate of Badia a Coltibuono, then owned by her grandmother, Emanuela Stucchi Prinetti began working at the winery full time in 1989 under the direction of her father.
Initially managing the winery’s sales and marketing, Emanuela also assisted her mother in running the cooking school at the Coltibuono estate, writing a number of cookbooks that have since been translated into many languages.
Emanuela now works with her brothers to manage the entire Badia a Coltibuono estate. In 2000, she was the first woman to be elected president of the Consorzio Chianti Classico, Marchio Storico.
Longtime a dinner destination, we are excited to offer guests the opportunity to enjoy a more casual dining experience.
Chef Barbara Lynch has created a spring menu that seamlessly translates Menton to lunch with a wine list curated by Executive Wine Director Cat Silirie. Uniquely well-suited for either business or leisure, guests may enjoy a quick meal with colleagues or linger in the the afternoon over hand-crafted Gold Bar cocktails.
The afternoon hours in our dining room and Gold Bar are too beautiful not to share. We look forward to welcoming you!
Monday - Friday from 11:30am - 2:00pm
Just as the chefs carefully source each ingredient, every element of the space, from the French linens to the Austrian wine glasses, has also been thoughtfully selected to enhance the entire dining experience.
The interior, designed by long-time collaborators Cheryl and Jeffrey Katz, reflects Chef Barbara's vision of fine dining: A marriage of luxury, whimsy, elegance, comfort, and surprise.
